Solid-State Variable Optical Attenuator
The Solid-State Fiber Optic Variable Optical Attenuator family is based on a proprietary magneto-optic light management technology, featuring non-mechanical fast response and ultra-high reliability without wear-out mechanism. The VOA is conveniently controllable by a direct low voltage signal without the need for special circuitry. The solid-state optical crystal design eliminates all mechanical movement and organic materials. The SS series variable optical attenuators are designed to meet the most demanding operation requirements of ultra-high reliability and fast response time with minimum mechanical footprint. The SS series VOA is particularly suitable for continuous power regulating operation and optical transient suppression, as well as analog signal modulation applications. We currently offer configurations in both polarization independent and polarization maintain versions, as well as a desirable integrated optical output tap.
An evaluation/development kit, including a PC driver and Windows™ based graphical interface, is also available for these products.
